My name is James Meade, and I am a qualified Humanistic Counsellor and a registered member of BACP.
I am also a Registered Mental Health Nurse and member of the NMC based in Brighton, Sussex UK.
I have extensive experience as a Registered Counsellor, specialising in supporting individuals with issues related to problem gambling, substance misuse, and the mental health impacts of these challenges. My roles have included addiction counselling for voluntary services, working in residential addiction treatment centres, and providing support in probation and HMP in Surrey and Sussex and Brighton.
My integrative approach to counselling draws on various schools of thought, allowing me to tailor my methods to each client’s unique needs.
In addition to my role as an addiction counsellor I work as a Registered Mental Health Nurse. Holding roles in Acute Inpatient mental health departments within both NHS and private facilities, and served as a Lead Practitioner and Community Mental Health Nurse.
Currently, I am a Dual Diagnosis Nurse at Change Grow Live, assisting individuals with both mental health needs and substance misuse issues. I collaborate closely with local NHS mental health trusts and partner agencies to provide comprehensive support.
