If you’re struggling with addiction, it’s important to know that you’re not alone. The feelings of guilt and shame you’re experiencing are common, but they don’t define you. These emotions can make you feel stuck and isolated from those you care about, through counselling support there is a way out.
Counselling offers a safe space where you can share your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement. My role is to listen and support you, helping you to understand that your addiction doesn’t make you a bad person. It is a step towards breaking the cycle of addiction and starting your journey to recovery and freedom.
One approach that underpins my approach to working with addiction is Motivational Interviewing. This approach is all about working together with you.
During our work, I aim to draw out your own motivation and resources for change. I truly believe that everyone has the potential for change within them; it’s just a matter of bringing it to the surface. My job is to help unlock that potential and support the natural change processes that are already within you. Motivational interviewing is about helping you break free from the ambivalence that keeps you stuck in cycles of self-defeating or self-destructive behaviour.
Imagine a place where you can be completely honest about your struggles, where you’re met with understanding and compassion. This is what counselling provides. It’s the first step towards healing, allowing you to move past the guilt and shame, and start rebuilding your life.
You deserve to feel connected to yourself and your loved ones again. Counselling can help you achieve this, offering a pathway to recovery and a chance to reclaim your life. Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength, and it’s the beginning of a brighter future.
