In my experience working with people facing addiction, I’ve seen how a substance or behaviour can completely take over your life, making it feel too overwhelming to tackle on your own. Recognizing this and seeking help is a brave step towards reclaiming control and finding the support you need to overcome addiction.
Addiction can involve both physical dependence, where the body becomes accustomed to a substance, and psychological dependence, where there’s a strong craving and reliance on a substance or behaviour to manage stress or emotional issues. It can affect many areas of life, including relationships, work, and overall health. It maybe that you are noticing some of these statements maybe familiar in your life, through therapy we can work through these to regain control and wellbeing.
Supporting individuals on their journey to recovery from addiction has been a deep passion of mine since 2009. My commitment to this work stems from both my personal journey and professional experience. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in diverse settings, including HMP, Probation, residential treatment centres, voluntary services, and now, in private practice.
